Job Responsibilites:

  • Performs instrumentation and testing of a mix of standard and non-routine test specimens.

  • Performs chemical dissolution for analysis of samples.

  • Performs test data processing utilizing MS Word and MS Excel.

  • Performs calculations, recording, and verifying of test control specimens.

  • Performs mechanical testing standards.

  • Calibrates and sets-up standardized material testing and lab support equipment.

  • Maintains lab support equipment and work areas, repairing defective equipment as needed.

  • Assists in project planning.

  • Assists in lab work assignments and implementation of new procedures and methods in the lab.

High school diploma, 2 year Mechanical engineering degree maximum

1-3 years experience is a plus 

The successful candidate should...

  • have good communication and math skills.  
  • be comfortable utilizing MS Word and MS Excel.


Strong mechanical aptitude.

Ability to perform advanced math calculations.

Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Ability to relate to topics which require an acute understanding or specialized knowledge.

Ability to pay meticulous attention to all aspects of a situation or task, no matter how small or seemingly unimportant.

Maximum weight lifting requirement is 50lbs

Standing to sitting time ratio is 80:20, respectively


Ability to perform routine maintenance and repairs of various mechanical systems with direction.
